its not ‘for boys’ or ‘for girls’. its for me. its mine. you cant have it
I think cishet people get angry when they are labeled as cishet because they aren’t used to having to be labeled. They are shocked and upset that an increasing amount of people no longer refer to cishet people as “normal,” because those people have realized that no sexual orientation or gender identity is the supreme normal way to be.
it’s about time gender roles have changed
Remember back when Harrods department store in London opened their first gender-neutral toy department? That was pretty cool, huh? Now other major retailers in the UKâincluding Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Boots, and Toys R Usâare moving in a similar direction, abolishing gender-specific aisles after being convinced of what a ridiculous notion is it for toys to be for any specific gender. This calls for a slow clap.
ah yes. my gender is blue with pink leg
so this is killing me cause my mind immediately thought.
and this is why im not allowed to be part of actual serious discussions.
i DONT UNDERSTAND THIS AT ALL I KEEP IMAGINING

“This idea that there are “girl books” and “boy books” and “chick lit” and “whatever is the guy equivalent of chick lit”* gives credit to absolutely no one, especially not the boys who will happily read stories by women, about women. As a lover of books and someone who supports readers and writers of both sexes, I would love a world in which books are freed from some of these constraints.”

PRIVILEGE is a wonderful one though. people seem to think privilege on a political or sociological basis is based upon the number of people who make up a demographic. people think you are only disprivileged if you are constantly isolated or physically oppressed. negative worlds can be reinforced through positive emotions. oddly enough, that’s how abuse works much of the time.
People also seem to think gender and misandry are real things. :O
walk up in the club like “end rape culture, unlearn sexism, question gender, fight back”
I don’t play video games for the strong female characters. I don’t play video games for the strong male characters. I play video games for strong people. I play video games for their stories. Gender doesn’t matter. Being a living, breathing, feeling being matters.
#I JUST HAD TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST #I SWEAR IF I SEE ONE MORE POST ABOUT HOW MY FAVORITE LADIES ARE STRONG CHARACTERS #SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE A BADASS WOMAN #I’M GONNA HURT SOMEONE #fuck gender shouldn’t matter #you as a person should matter
I disagree. In a wonderful, perfect world gender shouldn’t matter, but it does. It does, and pretending it doesn’t is putting your head in the sand. I think we’re at a critical point in video game development where creators need to start seeing that yes, people legitimately enjoy women characters who are fucking badasses (and will buy the game specifically BECAUSE they exist in it) and no, making characters like that will not make the game tank or whatever stupid shit people say. So every time I see a video game doing it right, you sure as hell will hear me praise the game and rec it to people specifically based on things like having a well developed female character. And I hope eventually there will come a day when said well developed female characters are the norm rather than the exception.
